You want me to do what?" Alexandra Kennedy gasped as she listened to what Special Agent Fox Mulder told her about her new case. "Don't look at me, it wasn't my idea." Special Agent Dana Scully defended. "I'm not looking at you, Scully." Kennedy pointed a finger at her partner, Mulder. "I'm looking at you, Meathead." Mulder smiled. "Well, it was your uncle that assigned you to this case." "He cannot me reached, but don't worry, I'll deal with him later." Kennedy growled. "You on the other hand, happen to be here at the present moment." "Scully..." Mulder looked at her for help. "I'm not getting involved, Mulder." Scully shrugged. "You're on your own." Kennedy moved toward Mulder with fingers ready go choke him. "Help!!!" Mulder yelped. ******* ADMIRAL'S ARCADE WASHINGTON, DC FRIDAY, 8:15 P.M. "I can't believe I'm doing this!" Kennedy moaned as she looked at her clothes. She was wearing blue jeans that were four sizes to big, a baggy tee-shirt, running shoes and a jacket with New York Yankees logo on the back. The case was about a man whom was abducting young teenagers, male and female, from various arcades and local teen hangouts. He lures them away by saying that he'd buy them either cigarettes or stating that he'd buy clothes. The suspect's first victims weren't sexual abused, they were just forced to listen to him talk about his childhood and other things. The more persons he abducted, the more he did to them. The last four persons he abducted were all thirteen year old girls. All four girls were found dead on their doorsteps. The problem with the last for victims was that he had met arrangements to meet them by chatting to them in various chat groups on the Internet. As part of the case, Kennedy, Mulder and Scully were required to go undercover to expose a child abduction case. The case was originally Kennedy and the Computer Crime's but as more evidence was found, AD Skinner reassigned the case to the X-Files. Kennedy and Agent Danny Pendrell set up a meeting time with the suspect, Jack Daniells over a 'net. Now it was time to meet him, the problem was that Pendrell had told Daniells that he was a 13 year old female. That's where Kennedy stepped in, well more like forced in. Kennedy took pictures of Mulder and Scully, using the crime lab's software, she was able to create a picture of what their child could possibly look like... a freckled, deep-red-haired, hazel-eyed teenager. "Couldn't you have done better?" Mulder teased as he saw Kennedy and Scully approach. "Remember, I am what a child of yours would look like!" Kennedy smiled. "Except, I got my height from your side of the family," she whispered as Scully's fist swung out and nailed Kennedy in the ribs. "Okay, I didn't mean it... really..." Kennedy tried to breathe after the wind was knocked out of her. "And don't you forget it." "Okay wife- oweee!" Mulder whined as Scully held him by his ear. "I apologize, I'm so sorry. Come on Scully, let go." Scully tugged at him until he lower his head down to face her. "If you ever called me 'wife' again, you better have a good medical plan." "Enough said." Pleaded Mulder. "Can we just go in and behave ourselves." "As long as you listen to your own warnings, Mulder." Scully replied. "I'm not being responsible for your actions... both of you." "Mom, you're not fun." Kennedy teased as she disappeared into the arcade. "Mulder, remind me to shoot you when we're done." Mulder grinned. "Sure thing, honey." ******* Inside... Kennedy checked out the layout of the place before finding Mulder and Scully. "Looks like he isn't here yet." The trio wandered up one of the isles with pinball machines. "Anyone got any quarters?" "Mulder?" Scully looked him straight in the eye. Mulder grunted and dug out a twenty out of his pocket. "I'll get change." Kennedy replied as she snapped away the bill. "Later." Mulder started to say something when Scully hinted for him to keep silent. "Remember, teenagers hate to be around the parents." Scully smiled. "Danabelle, I didn't even like being around my mom now, let alone back then." Mulder chuckled as he noticed a familiar form in front of one of the pinball machines. Scully saw who he was hinting to and tapped her on the shoulder. "Well, well, well, Joanne Thornton.". Jo jumped. "Don't you ever do that!" She hissed. "I've got the nerves you know." "I know!" Mulder remember his first case with the Jaguar. "So what are you running on?" "Three espressos." Jo smiled. "And a lot of M&Ms." "How many in a lot?" Scully looked at her hyper friend. "Depends..." Thornton opened up her leather jacket. "What do you like... plain? Peanut? Almond? Peanut butter?" Mulder and Scully's jaw hit the floor. "This explains a lot." Scully muttered as she watched her partner begin to drool. "Jo, give him a pack before he makes a scene." "Right." Jo tossed him a package of plain M&Ms. "Go fetch." ******* Kennedy found several games she recognized from her days as a Mountie. Many of the officers got together on Friday nights to relax and play the games. Kennedy was the reigning champ of Mortal Kombat II and foozball when she was suspended from the RCMP, but now it was time for her to regain her title... The first guy she played didn't last past the first round. The next four barely lasted into the second round. Mulder was the sixth victim to challenge her. "Look Mulder, I should warn you that I get pretty competitive." "I'll take that under consideration when I beat you." Mulder said as he dropped in the required quarters. "We'll see who's standing at the end..." After several rounds, the victor was pretty easy to identify. Kennedy, she had beat him at the game and at the two games on either side of Mortal Kombat II. "Look Mulder, face it, I'm better." Mulder just stared at her. "The game must be broken, I'll go report it to the manager." "Right Mulder," Kennedy just nodded as she rolled her eyes. "Now for pinball..." ******* "So Jo, what's the competition been like?" Scully asked as she watched Jo beat her previous high score. "Put it this way, I don't have to worry my records on any of the machines." Jo pointed to all of the pinball machines. "Needless to say, I've been her for a while." "Oh." Scully looked to see Kennedy approach one of the machines. "Here comes trouble." Kennedy walked around several of the pinball machines until she found one she liked. It was Terminator 2 one. "Just like at home." She dropped the necessary coins in and pressed start. Jo spun around when she heard someone playing the game. "What do you think you're doing?" "Playing the game, what do you think?" Kennedy didn't look up, she just watched the metallic ball rack up points. "You're new around here, so I'll let you off with a warning," Jo pointed at Kennedy. "I rule this place, no one plays one of the pinball games without my approval." Mulder added. "And skill check." Jo ignored him. "What's your name?" "Kennedy." Kennedy replied as she watched two pinballs go at the same time. "Look Kennedy, move it or loose it." Jo growled as she watched Kennedy's score get too close to her own high score. "I'm not leaving until I'm done." Kennedy continued to play. Scully watched the two women argue, a man entering the arcade caught her attention and she wandered over to Mulder. "Don't look, but I think our man just walked in." Mulder did look. "Where?" "I told you not to look." He shrugged. "Six foot, wearing a Yankee jersey. Look, you keep an eye on him and I'll grab Kennedy." Scully stepped toward the fighting females. "Hate to break it up but, Jack just walked in." "Got anymore money, Mom?" Kennedy asked as she realized that she was down to about half a dozen quarters. "Hit your father up, he's got all the money." Scully replied, Kennedy nodded and left. "So Jo, afraid that you'd loose your title to a 13 year old?" "Before I answer that, what's this about she calling you 'Mom.' Did I miss something?" Jo asked as she continued where Kennedy left off on the pinball game. "Are you two sleeping together... again?" "It's a long story." "A thirteen year old usually is." Jo snickered. "So Mulder's the father?" "Joanne... don't go there." Scully told her firmly as she watched Mulder approach. "Let's put it this way, we're on duty and our suspect just walked in." "Enough said." Jo pounded the glass with her fist. "Damn!" Scully saw what the problem was, Jo tilted. "Later Jo," she turned and walked off with Mulder. ******* Kennedy felt the presence of Jack behind her as she played the Indy 500 car race simulator. She was winning, but most of her concentration wasn't on the game, it was on the person standing behind her. "Mind if I play against you?" Jack said as he sat down beside her. Kennedy looked at him and nodded. She was more afraid that her voice or actions would give her away. They started a new race, Kennedy being a black Ferrari, numbered 13, while the man beside her was a red Buick, numbered 52. Kennedy won the race easily as Jack "purposely" continually crashed his vehicle. "So what's your name?" "The Canadian Lynx." Kennedy replied. Snow Leopard was the name she had given him so he'd know who she was. "You?" "Snow Leopard." Deep inside Kennedy, her heart said to take this guy outside and give him what he had given all of his victims... a slow and painful death, but her mind said no, let the courts decided. "Another game?" "Sure... how's about a little foozball." Jack pointed to the empty table. "Like they play on Friends." she thought as she followed him to the table. "Would you like to be the American or Canadian team?" Kennedy didn't have to choose. "Canadian." ******* Mulder and Scully managed to watch from a distance, they used Jo as their decoy. By watching the reflection from the pinball machine. "Mulder, I hate to say it, but Kennedy's a great teenager." "What do you expect, she is my daughter after all." Mulder said proudly. Jo started to cough. "I just ate an M&M, what do you want me to do... chock?" "That'd be a start.... owe fuck off." Mulder whined after Jo kicked him in the shin. "Children, we're on duty." Scully informed them. "Now behave." "Yeah Mulder, behave." Jo mocked Scully. "Let's take this outside, Thornton." Mulder pointed to the door. "No problem, I haven't had my morning's workout." Thornton grinned. "Back alley or front sidewalk, what do you prefer." Mulder looked at her. "Would you like your humiliation public or private." Scully stepped in. "Shut up you too... Kennedy's on the move." "Oh shit." Mulder moaned as he watched Kennedy leave with Jack. "Here we go..." "You don't sound hopeful, Tarzan." Jo went back to playing pinball. "She's a thirteen with an attitude." Scully moaned. "Aren't all teenagers trouble?" Asked Jo. "This one in particular." Mulder looked at the two women. "You should ask Pendrell for more information on Kennedy." "Why is Techno Weenie dating her?" The Jaguar was racking up points faster then the counter could keep up. "Jo play your game, Mulder come." Scully ordered as she headed for the exit. Mulder caught up with her and they headed in the direction that Kennedy left in. "Where she'd go?" "Mulder, how the hell do I know?" Scully looked up and down the street until she caught a glimpse of Kennedy's red hair heading into a back alley. "Come on Mulder, I've found her." "Right." ******* Kennedy followed Jack into the back alley and toward his van. "Where are we going?" "That's for me to know and for you to find out." Jack's tone changed from the friendly one to more harsher. "Get in," he ordered as he unlocked the door. "I don't think I should, my parents will kill me." Kennedy prayed that Scully and Mulder had followed because they had made her leave her Glock-7 at home. "Don't worry, I'll drop you off at home." Jack grabbed her arm and tried to force her into the van. "I'm not going with you, I don't trust you." Kennedy ducked under his arm and started to run when he grabbed her both of her arms. "Let go of me," she yelped as his grip tightened. "Listen," he turned her and tossed her against the brick wall. Kennedy's head hit the wall hard causing a large cut with blood running down the back of her neck. "Let go!" "No." Jack flipped her over his shoulder and started to carry her back to the van. "Just quit your whining." That was the last straw with Kennedy, her temper flared and she began to punch and kick him. "Put me down." Jack reached the van again and hit her more times then Kennedy could have counted. The first couple of hits weren't that bad, but the rest caused her to bleed because his ring cut her face, arms and shoulders, she did hear at least one of her ribs give under his punch. Kennedy tried to scream but he stuffed a dirty rag in her mouth and tossed her toward the brick wall. The fall against the wall knocked her out for a couple of minutes and caused the cut on the back of her head to bleed again. As she came to, her wrists and feet were tied with rope. The Morpher tried to get away but he grabbed her arm and spun her around to face him. With his gun in his hand, he ordered her to be silent. "Now shut up or you won't live long enough to see the sunset." Kennedy nodded as her mind filled with flashbacks from the back alley where Tibbs was beaten to death. While Jack's back was turned, Kennedy liquefied her wrists so the ropes that bounded them together slid off. She pulled the rag out of her mouth and stood. Jack was too busy to notice her creep up behind him, Kennedy curled her hands into a fist and landed a punch against the back of his neck, enough that knocked him out. Just then Mulder and Scully came racing into the alley, Kennedy saw them an waved them on. Though she was still morphed as the teenager, she collapsed to the ground, fighting Jack had taken all her strength away. The secret with the morphing is that she takes on all the strength of what she morphs into along with the skill of her own, being a teen limited her strength quite a lot. "What's going on here?" Mulder asked as he pulled out his weapon. "You alright Kennedy?" "Yeah," she reached behind her head and saw blood on her fingers. "I think I need a doctor." Scully gave her cuts a quick once over. "Mulder, she'll need stitches for her head and x-rays for her face." Mulder felt for her. "Can you tell us what happened?" "He tried to kidnap me, or should I say, beat the crap out of me." Kennedy turned to see police officers approaching. ******* THE BACK OF THE AMBULANCE... Kennedy had refused to go the emergence room, stating that the ER was only for real emergencies. The EMS team did managed to bandage up her cuts and told her firmly that she needed stitches. Scully told the guys that she'd monitor her and bring her in if required. Mulder told the guys that Scully was good at sewing people up and she'd do it, Kennedy then decided that she'd go to the ER after all. After the ambulance left with Kennedy in the back, Mulder turned to his partner. "Come on, dinner on me." "Sure." Scully smiled as she watched Jo approach. "Man, I missed all the fun." Jo looked around. "So what happened? You guys get caught necking in the back alley again?" "What do you mean by again?" Scully asked. "Oh right, that was my date with Mulder." Jo muttered. Mulder began to cough. "You and your big mouth, Jo!" "Shit you didn't tell her?" Jo noticed Scully reaching for her gun. "I'm out of here. Bye!" Mulder also noticed Scully and ran. "Chickens!" Scully replied. ******* Kennedy silently walked up to the seventh floor of her apartment building after returning from the emergency room. As she entered the loft, Paul stood. "What happened to you?" "Nothing." Kennedy tossed her keys on the table. "Let's just say that what happened today brought back a lot of memories that I didn't want to remember. Don't worry, these don't hurt," she pointed to the bandages. "Do you want to talk about it?" Paul sounded sincere. "Thanks but maybe later." Kennedy walked into the bathroom. "If anyone phones, I'll call them back in the morning." "Okay." Paul grabbed the phone as it rang. "Hello." "..." "Look Mulder, can she call you back later, she's busy at the current moment." Paul told him. "..." "Okay, I'll pass on the message." He hung up. Someone knocked on the door. Paul opened it. "May I help you?" "Yes, I'm Walter Skinner. Is my niece around?" Skinner asked politely. "She's in the shower." Paul held open the door. "Would you like to come in." "Thank you." Skinner looked around. "You must be Paul." "Yes, would you like something to drink?" Paul asked. "No thank you." The AD looked up to see his niece appearing from the bathroom. "Alexandra?" She looked up. "Uncle Walt," Kennedy walked over to him and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry for leaving, it's just that-" "Alex, it's okay." He felt for her, deep down Skinner knew what being in the alley did to Kennedy. "I settled it with the detective at police headquarters, he said to come in when you were ready." "Thanks." Kennedy motioned for them to sit down. Paul decided to leave them alone for a while. "I'm going out for a while, I'll be back later." He grabbed his keys and headed out the door. "He cares about you." Walter said after the door shut. Kennedy looked in the direction of the door. "I know, it's just that it's hard for me to open up about things." "You can take as long as you want off." Skinner said in a caring tone. "Thanks but I think getting back to work will help." Kennedy tucked her legs under her robe. "It's what Tibbs would have wanted me to do." "Tibbs was a smart man, I wish I could have met him." Skinner looked into his niece's green eyes. "If you're feeling better, how's about dinner? My treat." Kennedy smiled. "Well you've never changed, always thinking that dinner could fix anything." "Well?" "Sure, just let me go through on some clothes." Kennedy squeezed her uncle's hand and headed for her bedroom. As she reappeared, Skinner looked at her with a grin. "Hold on a minute, I smell a set up." "What do you mean?" "I mean that Paul left, and the Odd Couple haven't called to nag me... something's up. What gives?" The Canadian stared at her uncle. "I'm sworn to silence." The AD passed her coat. "Let's get going." ******* GAME WORLD LAUREL, MARYLAND 7:52 P.M. "So are they ever gonna show up?" Mulder complained as he paced around the table where Paul and Scully were sitting. "Mulder sit down." Scully looked at him. "Wearing out the carpet isn't gonna make her get here sooner." "Right." Mulder sat down beside his partner. Paul smiled. "She'll come, her Uncle Walt was going to offer to buy dinner." "Does that include us?" Mulder asked. "No." Skinner and Kennedy walked toward the table. "You guys are on your own." "Good, Scully's buying." Mulder blurted out. "Pardon me?" Scully's hand reached up behind Mulder's neck. "One move and you're in pain." "I mean that we are all going Dutch." "That's more like it." Scully stood. "So Kennedy, how many stitches did they give you?" "Ten, seven in the back of my head and three along the hair line." Kennedy pointed to the small banage. "What happened to your bruises?" Mulder looked at her face. "Wasn't your one eye nearly swollan shut?" "Yeah it was, remember my morphing abilities?" "Yeah." Mulder shrugged. Kennedy sat down beside Paul. "Well that stuff I was injected with as a child causes me to heal at a quicker then normal, I'll probably be able to get rid of the stitches by tomorrow morning." "Damn, I wish I could heal that fast." Mulder scuffled his shoe on the floor. "Mulder if you could heal that fast, my life along with Skinner's would be a lot less stress full." Scully teased as she looked around. "Who's up for a game of mini golf?" "I am." Kennedy smiled. "Mind you I suck at it." "Alright, finally something that I may beat her at!" Mulder said proudly. "Now that I remember, I am kind of good at it." Kennedy teased. "Shit." Mulder whispered under his breath. "Pardon me?" Kennedy joined the rest at looking at him. "Oh nothing." Mulder tugged at Scully's sleeve and the two headed straight for the mini-golf. "Fibbies... can't live with them..." Paul sighed. "Hey!" Kennedy protested. "Well you're not a real Fibbie... just a Mountie that is been transplanted to US soil." Paul quickly replied. "And don't you forget it." Kennedy smiled wickedly. ******* Mulder and Scully wandered around the place. There was an adult sized maze and climbing area, along with an arcade, 18 holes of mini golf, a batting range, and 3 pool tables. It wasn't until they walked into the arcade, did they find a familiar face. "Joanne Thornton, what are you doing here?" Scully asked. "I've told you once already today, never jump up on me," she scolded them. "Besides, I love a good arcade." "What do expect her to do when she's out of work." Mulder said as he stood behind Scully. "Mulder, I'll be nice and give you a head start." Jo left her game and started moving closer to him. Mulder spun on his heal and ran with Jo at his heals. "Finally, I'm alone." Scully sighed as she finished off The Jaguar's game of pinball. Kennedy and Paul walked toward Scully. "I thought you liked having Mulder around." Paul smiled as he watched Scully play. "Kind of, he's like an annoying younger sibling who won't leave you alone." Scully sighed as she watched the ball rack up the points. Kennedy looked in the direction of Mulder's pleas. "I have to ask, was that Jo chasing Mulder?" "Yeah, that was Jo." Scully took in a deep breath. "She's the other one we just can't get rid of." "Thought so." Kennedy giggled. "She's a cat, you just can't loose her." Scully laughed. "My guess is that she as Mulder stuck up in a fake tree by now." "She's a feline?" Paul looked surprised. "It's a long story, but yes she's a cat." Scully sighed as the screen flashed game over. "A jaguar to be exact." "Argentinean?" Kennedy looked in time to see her uncle approaching. "No." Scully paused. "Brazilian." "Close enough." Kennedy rolled her eyes. "So why are we stuck with her? Can't you send her back to where she was before?" "To Manitoba? I've been trying to do that for months." Skinner sighed. "I just can't get her back there fast enough." "Hey, she's from Canada?" Paul asked. Kennedy looked at her roommate. "Down boy, she's a smart ass." "And you're not?" The group turned around to see Jo appearing with Mulder at her side. "I'm not going anywhere, let alone Winnipeg in the winter." "Been there, done that." Kennedy smiled. "Got sent there on a case. Coldest bloody place I've ever been to." "And that's just in the summer." Paul laughed as Kennedy and Jo joined in. ********* The End... ********* 01/10/96 ********* Well that makes three Kennedy fanfics, man I have a lot of time on my hands.
