Author's Notes: This is my first fanfic so be gentle. Oh yeah, it might be 
considered a little long but still read it please.

We're in Love

4:00pm Monday FBI building

     It had been a very uneventful day, mostly filing papers and finishing 
reports. Mulder and Scully had been in the office almost all day when the 
phone rang. Scully picked it up. 
     "Hello."
     It was Piper, Skinner's secretary. "Scully, Skinner would like to see 
you and Mulder in his office."  
     "OK We're on our way." She hung up. 
     "What did you do to piss off Skinner now?" 
     "Nothing this time. Why who was on the phone?"
     "It was Piper."
     "What did she want?"
     "Skinner wants to see us."
     "Well, we better get going then."
     They exited their office and went to the elevator. Mulder pushed 3 and 
the doors closed.
     "What do you think he wants?"
     "I don't know, Mulder."
     The doors opened and they walked down the hallway. When they got to 
Piper's desk she said that Skinner was expecting them. She opened the door to 
Skinner's office. They walked in and Skinner told them to sit down.
     "There is a new case you must go on. Here's the file." He hands a folder 
to them. Mulder flips threw it and hands it to Scully.
     "So everyone that lives in this mansion ends up getting killed within 
the first week of living there when no one else is in the house."
"That's how it appears."
     "So what do you want us to do?" Scully had finished scanning the file 
and handed it back to Skinner.
     "You're going undercover as a married couple and will live in the house. 
All we want you to do is set up surveillance cameras and search the place. If 
nothing happens in a week you're coming home."
     "Please tell me that there isn't a big list of DOS and DON'TS like last 
time. And no nosey neighbors." Mulder spoke up.
     "Not this time Mulder. You will basically be on your own. The mansion is 
a 15 minute drive to town."
     "Better watch out Scully, no one will hear you scream." Mulder looked at 
Scully and smiled. She just playfully pushed him. Skinner just glared at 
them. They instantly stopped and looked at him.
     "So it looks like we're going to Summit Mountain, Washington."
     "Here are your tickets, you leave tomorrow at 11:00am. Go home and pack."
     Mulder and Scully got up and walked to the elevator. Scully pushed B.
     "So, maybe this time we'll act like a real married couple." Mulder joked.
     "Trust me Mulder, you won't get that lucky." The elevator stopped and 
they got off. They walked down the hallway to their office. Mulder picked up 
his stuff and told Scully to meet him at his house at 8 tonight and be 
hungry. She agrees and they both leave.

6:30pm Mulder's car

     On the way home Mulder gets some chicken, sweet and sour sauce, 
pineapple, rice, eggs rolls and 2 fortune cookies. He knew his Chinese 
cooking was better than the local take out.
 
6:30pm Scully's apartment

     Scully got home and threw her stuff on the couch. "Great"she thought. 
"Another undercover mission with Mulder." She pulled out her suit case and 
began to pack. She made sure to bring her gloves, boots, winter jacket, a 
sexy dress and a thong for Mulder to find and her to refuse to wear. "Won't 
he get a kick out of this, I love messing with his head." She thought. She 
went into the bathroom and grabbed her overnight bag. She was sure she had 
packed everything. She got in the shower.

7:00pm Mulder's apartment

     Mulder was in the kitchen making Sweet 'n' Sour chicken. "Scully is 
going to love this." He said. He had wanted to do something special after 
missing her birthday. 

7:00pm Scully's apartment

     Scully had gotten out of the shower and got dressed. She got in her car 
and started to drive to Mulder's.

7:30pm Mulder's apartment

     Mulder had just gotten out of the shower and went to the bedroom to get 
dressed. He had just finished getting ready when there was a knock on the 
door. He knew it was Scully. He walked to the door and let her in.
     "What's this for Mulder?"
     "Happy belated Birthday, Scully."
     "Thanks Mulder but you didn't have to."
     "So are you hungry?"
     "I'm starved. What's for dinner?"
     "You favorite, Sweet 'n' Sour Chicken."
     "You really know how to treat me."
     They sat down at the table and started to eat. They finished eating and 
walked into the living room. Mulder reached into his pocket and pulled out a 
neatly wrapped box and hands it to Scully. She opens it. It's a pin that says 
"I'm in the FBI and I've been abducted Don't piss me off!!!" She starts 
laughing and hitting Mulder. 
     "Very funny." She puts the pin on her jacket.
     "I thought you'd like it."
     After talking and laughing for a while Scully gets up to leave. Mulder 
calls her back and tells her that he will be at her apartment tomorrow at 
9:00am.

11:30pm Scully's apartment

     "That was weird." She thought. She got dressed in her hunter green silky 
pajamas with the ivory stripe. (I have these.)

9:00am Tuesday Scully's apartment

     Scully's bags are sitting by the couch. The doorbell rings and she lets 
Mulder in. They sit down at the table and Scully makes them scrambled eggs, 
bacon, and toast. They eat and Scully washes the dishes. They pick up there 
bags and hail a taxi. They get to the airport and board the plane.

5:00pm Summit Mountain, Washington

     Mulder and Scully move into the mansion. They start to unpack. Mulder 
sees Scully take out a short, black, revealing, and ultra sexy dress.
     "What's that for?"
     "Oh nothing Mulder."
     "Oh is that it?"
     "Yeah. No reason. I just thought it might come in handy."
     "Oh OK Whatever you say Scully."
     Mulder leaves the room to go to the bathroom. Scully takes this 
opportunity to put the thong away in the drawer where she knew Mulder would 
eventually find it. After they finished unpacking they got in the car and 
drove to Seattle.

6:00pm Seattle field office

     There they met with Agent Nickelson. He gave them the file and a list of 
all their maids and servants.
     "It's gonna be hard to remember all these names."
     "Yeah talk about rich." Scully chimed in. "There are enough people on 
this list to fill a small city."
     They picked up some surveillance equipment and got back in the car.

9:00pm Williker Mansion

     After stopping in town to get something to eat and pick up some 
groceries they went back "home." They showered and got ready for bed. There 
were two beds in the master bedroom to they didn't have to argue over who had 
to sleep on the couch. They install the surveillance cameras in front of the 
windows and doors and go to sleep.

7:00am Wednesday Williker Mansion

     Scully had been up for a while. She was used to getting up early. 
Mulder, on the other hand, would probably be in bed for at least another 
hour. She showered, got dressed, checked the voicemail on her new cell phone, 
and started to read the new Dean Koontz book.

8:45am Williker Mansion

     Mulder had just gotten out of the shower after sleeping until 8:30. 
Scully was hungry so she made breakfast for them.
     "The pancakes are delicious." Mulder said with his mouth full.
     "I hope so, you probably wouldn't have had 4 helpings if you didn't like 
them." Scully answered back.
     "What can I say, I'm a growing boy."
     "Well, we lived through one night. We should probably start our search 
of the house, make sure there aren't any secret passageways or anything."
     "I'm surprised at you, Scully. Normally that last part would be my line."
     "What can I say, I'll always keep you guessing."
     Scully started her search upstairs while Mulder started in the basement. 
By 5:00 they had finally finished, after stopping for lunch around 12:30.
     "I don't know, Scully. We've searched thins place top to bottom and 
there is no possible way for anyone to get in without breaking a window or a 
door."
     "I know. It's kinda spooky isn't it."
     "Very funny. I don't know maybe it's a ghost."
     "Wait a minute. Did I just hear you say I don't know?"
     "Yes, Scully. I don't know everything. Unlike some people I know, I will 
admit to that." Mulder teased.
     "Cute." Scully says as she pushes him onto the couch. Scully grabs the 
tv remote and starts channel popping.
     "I'm sure glad that all the appliances are included, I don't know what 
you would do without your dose of porn." Scully said.
     "Cute, Scully but I gave that up a while ago. Where have you been?"
     "By your side the whole way remember. I don't have a life."
     "Oh yeah, that's right. It's good of you to admit it. You shrink really 
must be helping." Mulder teased.
     "Very funny. But as I recall I'm not the only one here with neurological 
problems." Scully answered back.
     That night Mulder made spaghetti. Scully was slurping up some when she 
got sauce on her face. Mulder reached over and wiped it off with his finger. 
He put his finger to his mouth and licked off the sauce.
     "You don't appear to be the kind of person to slurp."
     "You don't appear to be a good cook but you are so what's the 
difference. You of all people should know that things aren't always what the 
seem."
     "Well, you got me there and I will take the cook remark as a compliment."
     They watched some tv until about 11:30 when they changed and went to bed.

8:00am Thursday Williker Mansion

     This was new. They both woke up at the same time and they were still 
alive. Mulder said Scully could use the shower first while he made breakfast. 
Today they had ham and cheese omelets. When Scully got out it was Mulder's 
turn. They decided that they would spend today in town. By 10:00 they were on 
their way to town. Scully wanted to go shopping so they stopped at the Steel 
Beach Mall. After Scully and Mulder had each bought almost half a new 
wardrobe and stopping for lunch at the local Coney Island they drove past an 
ultra fancy restaurant with dancing.
     "Hey why not? Are you up to dancing the night away, Scully?"
     "Sure. Sounds like fun to me. I'm shocked, Mulder I didn't think you 
would find anything here you liked but you ended up with a trunk full by 
yourself."
     "I know. It's weird. I hate shopping for clothes but these were awesome 
and the price, talk about cheap." Mulder said.
     "Oh yeah. We do know how to shop."

7:00pm Williker Mansion

     "Scully was in the bathroom putting on her black dress. The length was 
perfect and it showed just enough cleavage to make Mulder wonder. Scully 
finished putting on her make-up and fixing her hair. She stepped out of the 
bathroom.
     "What do you think, Mulder?"
Mulder did a double take. "Wow, I never knew you could look this good."
     "I told you this would come in handy." Scully teased.
Mulder stepped into the bathroom and put on the ultra gorgeous suit he had 
brought, just in case. It was black and it looked awesome with his blue shirt 
and the silver and blue tie. (Sorry if you think this sounds bad, I can only 
tell if it looks good by seeing it.) When he finished his hair he stepped 
out. This time Scully did a double take. She never knew that he had this much 
taste.
     "So, what do you think?"
     "Wow. There isn't anything else to say. Just wow."
     "I'm glad you like it. Shall we go?"
     "We better before we say anything else to diminish our pride."

8:00pm The Ruby Restaurant and Dance Hall

     When they got there they sat down and ordered Crystal wine and lobster 
with melted butter. When they were done eating they still hadn't danced yet. 
Lonestar's Amazed came on and Scully leaned over and told Mulder that this 
was her favorite song. Mulder gets up and walks over to Scully and sticks his 
hand out.
     "Would you care to dance?"
     "I'd love to." Scully got up and Mulder escorted her to the dance floor 
where they danced to the whole time. Scully couldn't help but sing the lyrics 
along with the song.

     By the end of the song they both were blushing and Scully's were all 
teary. Neither one of them wanted to admit that it touched a nerve. They sat 
back down and had some more wine.
     "I'm glad this is billed to the FBI. This wine is expensive." Mulder 
said, trying to break the silence.
     "Yeah I know what you mean. After our shopping spree we don't have much 
cash left."
     They danced some more but both of them made sure not to dance to 
anything that romantic again. Nothing they danced to could fit them in any 
way. By 12:30 they were on their way "home." Even though they both had had a 
smidge too much to drink they made it back safely.

9:00am Friday Williker Mansion

     They both slept in late. After last night anyone probably would have. 
(no they didn't do it). They were exhausted from dancing, shopping, and the 
wine. When they woke up the each showered and had french toast for breakfast. 
They spent today going though the surveillance tapes and reporting their 
progress to the Seattle office. By now it was 5:00 and nothing had happened.
     "Mulder, I'm starting to think that there was no case at all. I mean 
nothing has happened. Maybe they thought we needed a break and knew we 
wouldn't take it." Scully said.
     "I know. It's possible but there is still time left maybe there will be 
something tomorrow." Mulder tried to reassure her.
     "I hope so because besides yesterday this trip has been pretty boring."
     "I know yesterday was a blast though. We should do it again some time." 
Mulder said.
     "Maybe." Scully answered.
     Neither one of them would bring up the first song or dance. That night 
they went out for dinner. Mulder had chicken and Scully had shrimp. When they 
got back they changed and hopped into bed. Scully wondered when Mulder would 
find the thong and she was starting to hope that he didn't.

8:00am Saturday Williker Mansion

     When Mulder was in the shower Scully decided to put the thong away for 
good. She didn't want Mulder to see it anymore. Too late, Mulder got out of 
the shower before she had found a good hiding place. He saw it in her hand 
and she blushed.
     "What's that for, Scully?"
     Scully didn't know what to say. "I must have grabbed it by mistake when 
I was grabbing my underwear for the trip." Scully lied.
     "Oh is that it? I thought maybe you had some ulterior motives for 
bringing it along." Mulder said in a sly voice.
     Scully knew that he had figured her out. 'I guess you know me better 
than I thought." Scully gave in. "I wanted to mess with your head and see how 
you would react. But after the other night I changed my mind."
     "I don't know what to say."
     "Mulder, can we please forget this ever happened?" Scully begged.
     "No, but this will be our little secret." Mulder said with a big grin on 
his face.
     "All right, I guess. If you say a word of this to anyone I do have my 
gun and you know I'm a good shot." 
     "Agreed. Now let's go look at those tapes." Mulder answered.
     "After I take a shower." 
     "OK but I'll start breakfast."
     Mulder made waffles. Scully got out of the shower and got dressed. They 
ate breakfast in silence and Scully washed the dishes. Mulder got the tapes 
ready and they sat on the couch to watch. By 3:00 they were extremely bored 
and they had stopped every hour and a half to stretch. They called the 
Seattle office and told them that this case was going no where. Agent 
Nickelson told them that they had one more day after this and then they could 
go home if nothing happened. They hung up and went for coffee. When they got 
back it was 5:00. They decided to watch a couple more tapes before dinner. At 
6:00 they had chicken casserole for dinner. Then they washed the dishes and 
sat down for at least 3 more hours of viewing. Around 11:00 they went to bed 
without finding anything. They never said anything about the thong.

8:30am Sunday Williker Mansion

     Mulder and Scully had been awake for a while. They went out to eat at 
Masterson's Hideaway, a little restaurant in town. After breakfast they went 
to the Seattle field office and Agent Nickelson told them that all flights 
today were cancelled due to the bad weather that wsa supposed to hit. They 
would fly back to DC on Monday.  
     "Well, Scully, looks like we have one more night to be married."
     "Yep, It looks that way." Scully said.
They went back to the mansion and watched tv until lunch time. At 1:00 they 
had lunch. Scully decided to take a nap while Mulder played basketball in the 
back. When Scully finally woke up it was time for dinner. Mulder had made 
lasagna. They ate then decided to go outside.
     "Looks like this storm wasn't as bad as they thought." Mulder said.
     "Nope we only got a couple of inches."
     "Yeah but it's still snowing."
     Mulder picked up a snowball and threw it at Scully. Scully quickly 
picked up one a hit Mulder in the face. This escalated to a full blown war. 
By the time they were tired they were both covered in snow and frozen. They 
went in side Mulder hopped in the shower and then it was Scully's turn.
     "That was fun, we should do it again sometime." Scully said.
     "Yeah, but I'll win next time."
     "Whatever, we'll see." Scully said as she playfully punched him.
     They went to bed. While they were dreaming the both realized something, 
they loved each other. 

10:00am Airplane to DC

     They had already been up, showered, dressed, and packed. They hadn't 
said a word to each otheryet. They ate breakfast at Masterson's Hideway 
again. 
     "Scully, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Mulder said after the 
thought of kissing Scully popped into his head.
     "That depends Mulder, do I get 20 questions?"
     "Nope only 3." Mulder teased.
     "Ok, Does it involve the lower part of my face?"
     "Yes."
     "Does it involve both of us?"
     "Right again Scully. Last question."
     "Can I solve the puzzle?"
     "Go right ahead."
     Scully leaned in and kissed him with the most passion and urgency she 
had in her. 
     "Correct answer how about a bonus round." Mulder leaned in and kissed 
her back. This time they parted their lips and Mulder slipped his tongue into 
Scully's mouth.

5:00pm FBI Headquarters

     They had already gone back to their apartments, unpacked, and went to 
the office. Skinner had called at wanted to see them right away. They walked 
into Skinner's office and sat down. 
     "People have been saying that you guys have been acting differently 
since you got back." Skinner said.
     "I'm sorry Skinner but there is something you should know." Mulder said.
     "What is that?" 
     Mulder and Scully glanced at each other before they answered 
simultaneously.
     "We're in love."
